Budget Trip To Uttan Beach

Where is Uttan Beach?

Uttan is a small town in Bhayander West. Is a fishermen’s village and primary vocation of people living here is fishing.

How to reach Uttan beach?

You can reach Uttan beach by both road and train. Ofcourse, the last mile have to be covered by road.

Uttan beach by train

You can take a Bhayander or Vasai or Virar local from the western railway in Mumbai and get down at Bhayander.

Head towards west and outside the station, you will see a small bus stop catering to bus number 1 & 2. These are the bus that will take you to Uttan village.

The bus frequency is every 30min and bus fare till Uttan Naka is Rs.17. (Bus No.1 goes till Uttan Chawk, Uttan Naka is before it and this bus is less croweded)

Note: There is one bus stop just before this one from where you will get bus to Gorai, Pagoda, Essel world.

From Uttan Naka, you can either walk about 2km enjoying the beautiful homes of fishing community or take a sharing auto that will charge you Rs.10 per seat till Uttan Beach also called Velankanni beach.

Uttan beach by road

If you are driving, remember to take the Bhayander Mira road turn . Once you reach Golden Nest, take the flyover to Bhayander west and drive to the left side of road to reach Uttan Village.

Parking at Uttan Beach

There is no pay and park, you can park your vehicle at road side or near rocky beach.

Is Uttan beach good?

Uttan beach is a rocky beach ie unlike the sand beach you will find rocks there. There is a small strech of sand but it gets covered during high tides.

The beach is decent, you will find people drinking openly at the rocky beach. So if you don’t like it, avoid going to this beach.

Besides this, you can carry your food and take a place at the plane patch just beside the rocky beach and have a good picnic. I saw people bring large spekers, playing music and enjoying!!

There is Velankanni church beside the beach. The church is beautiful and it has a tall Mother Mary idol that attracts a lot of people.

You will have to climb some stairs to reach there.

Food options at Uttan beach

There is pretty limited food option at the beach, so better carry your food or you can buy it from the Uttan village before proceeding to the beach.

Resorts Near Uttan Beach

You can book resort at Uttan and enjoy, following are two well known resorts at Uttan:

Pali Resort:

This is a beautifl resort with water sports, food option. Its a nice place for family annd office picnic. There is play area for kids as well. It caters to both veg and non veg food.

This one is very close to the beach with swimming pools and other water sport options.
